A tragic collision on US Highway 183 in Leander claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday afternoon. The Leander Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 2:16 p.m. north of Huddleston Road.
According to the officials, a motorcycle and a Kia were involved in a collision. Regrettably, the driver of the Kia fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident after colliding with the motorcycle. The male motorcycle rider was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Leander police, relying on witness accounts, successfully identified the vehicle and located the Kia driver, Robert Corral, 29, in Liberty Hill. Corral was arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal crash and taken to the Williamson County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s identity is withheld pending family notification.
