A hit-and-run collision in Kitsap County claimed a person’s life early Thursday morning, as reported by the Washington State Patrol. The hit-and-run accident occurred around 1 a.m. on State Route 3 at Sunnyslope, prompting the closure of SR 3 in both directions.
Authorities located the vehicle responsible for the collision shortly afterwards, not far from the crash scene. By 6 a.m., the roadway was reopened to traffic. The investigation into the fatal hit-and-run is ongoing, with troopers working to gather more details about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
One person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time. However, no alcohol or drugs were found at the fatal crash.
