In a tragic hit-and-run accident, a pedestrian lost their life on the 101 Freeway in Hollywood early Friday morning. The collision occurred around 4:45 a.m. at Vermont Avenue, as reported by Los Angeles police.
The driver involved fled the scene after the collision. The extent of the fatal crash, stretching for several hundred yards, suggests the victim, a man, was likely dragged. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.
The California Highway Patrol Central Los Angeles Office is actively investigating the cause and sequence of events. The freeway closures led to significant traffic disruptions, with normal flow restored around 10:40 a.m.
