According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a hit-and-run accident occurred in El Paso on Wednesday. The crash happened on I-10 East near Exit 20 at around 8:01 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Chevy Silverado, a Smart Fortwo, and an unknown pedestrian were involved in the collision. Both drivers were traveling at a high speed unable to avoid the pedestrian and struck the pedestrian.
The unknown pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead following the collision. The El Paso Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
