In Compton, a tragic hit-and-run accident unfolded on Saturday night as a man was struck by a car. The driver responsible for the collision fled the scene without stopping to identify themselves.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) swiftly responded to the area of Rosecrans Avenue and Avalon Boulevard just before 7:30 p.m., following reports of the fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Tragically, the male victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. The cause of the fatal crash is still bieng investigated by the authorities.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. At present, no suspect or vehicle description is available.
