1 Person Killed In A Hit-And-Run Accident In Apache Junction (Apache Junction, AZ)

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a hit-and-run accident in Apache Junction on Saturday. The accident occurred on U.S. 60 at Meridian Road near Apache Junction at around 7:40 a.m. 

According to the officials, a white pickup truck was headed east on the highway when it hit a woman at the Meridian Road off-ramp. The woman had been walking along the highway at the time of the collision. 

The victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been identified at this time. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before the police could arrive. 

The officials have released a description of the suspect vehicle – a white single-cab dual flatbed pickup truck with black rails. It will have damage to its front passenger side and may have broken headlights.

The fatal crash is still being investigated.
