According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in San Leandro. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the 600 block of Lewelling Boulevard. A pedestrian was struck by a moving vehicle. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI. The cause of the wreck is suspected to be alcohol influence. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the driver. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
