According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday morning in Fremont. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on northbound Interstate 880, past Mowry Road. A pedestrian was walking on the road when they were struck by a moving vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Other insights including the identity of the victim are yet to be released. The reason for the victim’s presence on the highway has also not been revealed.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
