According to the San Mateo Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday in San Mateo.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in a San Mateo Target parking lot, in the area of 2220 Fashion Island Boulevard.
At Least three vehicles were involved in the accident.
Details pertaining to how the crash occurred remain unknown.
Speed is suspected to be a major factor that led to the wreck.
One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Two others were transported to the hospital in a stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the SMPD.
