According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday morning in San Clemente. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the northbound freeway at El Camino. A total of three vehicles were involved in the wreck.
A man was found to be lying unconscious on the freeway next to a vehicle. It is not yet known if it was just the one person who was fatally injured. The identity of the deceased person remains unknown.
The cause of the collision is pending determination. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
