According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Stanislaus County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the 6200 block of East Hatch Road. A black Dodge and a silver Chevrolet struck one another head-on. Subsequently, both vehicles burst into flames.
The occupant of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The occupant of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital sustaining injuries. The identities of the deceased and injured persons remain unknown.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
