According to the Gardena Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday evening. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on 135th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard. A white Kia was travelling towards the north at a very high speed when it struck a black Mercedes-Benz.
The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
The cause of the collision is suspected to be a high rate of speed. The involvement of alcohol or drugs remains unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the GPD.
