According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Monday morning in Flagstaff. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred at milepost 200, east of Fourth Street overpass. A semi-truck and a passenger vehicle struck one another. As a result of this, the semi-truck turned to its side and blocked off all eastbound lanes of the interstate.
One person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Insights pertaining to the identity of the deceased person remain unknown.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the ADPS.
