According to the Albuquerque Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Albuquerque. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the accident occurred near Gold and 2nd. The driver of a car lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed. The car struck a tree, rolled, hit an electric pole and finally a building on Broadway.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The passenger was transported to a hospital sustaining leg injuries. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the wreck has been named as high speed. The crash continues to be investigated by the APD.
