1 Person Killed In A Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash In Laveen (Laveen, AZ)

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday in Laveen. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred near 39th and Southern Avenues. Two people were walking in the area when they were struck by a 2009-2020 Dodge Journey or a 2004-2008 Chrysler Pacifica.

Of the two people, the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle fled the scene of the accident.

The cause of the collision is yet to be named. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The identity of the deceased victim has not been reported.

The crash continues to be investigated by the MCSO.
