According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal accident occurred in Santa Cruz on Tuesday. The crash happened on northbound Highway 17 at the El Rancho Drive exit.
According to the investigators, an unknown person suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Cruz Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
According to the reports, it is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved. Some portions of the northbound Highway 17 at the El Rancho Drive exit are blocked for further investigation.
