A tragedy struck Perris as a bicyclist lost their life following a collision with a vehicle, as announced by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday. The bicycle accident occurred around 2:55 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of A Street and Redding Way.
Deputies from the sheriff’s Perris station found an unresponsive bicyclist with severe injuries. Despite lifesaving measures by deputies, the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained cooperative with the authorities during the investigation.
Initial findings suggest that the vehicle was attempting a left turn from Redding Way onto A Street when the bicyclist failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in a fatal crash. The identity of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification to their next of kin.
