One person died while another suffered injuries following a fiery crash overnight on Wednesday in Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place on Interstate 10 near 24th Street. The early reports showed that a truck was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it went over the median and crashed into another truck going in the opposite direction.

On arrival, emergency responders found both vehicles engulfed in flames. Firefighters extricated one of the drivers, who was pinned inside a truck that had fully caught fire. That driver received only minor injuries, but the other driver was killed in the crash.

According to the authorities, the driver who died was in the truck that crossed the median. A portion of Interstate 10 was shut down to give way to the investigation. The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time. No other information has been provided.

The incident remains under review.
