On Saturday morning, a 20-year-old man lost his life and three others were injured following a two-vehicle collision on 60 Freeway near Grand Avenue.
As per the initial reports, the deadly crash took place on eastbound 60 Freeway, just east of Grand Avenue at about 3:04 a.m. Investigation of the crash revealed that a 2019 Nissan Armada and a Honda Accord were involved in the crash. Nissan Armada struck the stalled Honda Accord from behind for reasons that are yet to be known.
The first responders confirmed that a 21-year-old La Puente man who was driving the Honda received major injuries while a 20-year-old male passenger of the vehicle suffered moderate injuries. The emergency crews rushed both the victims to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Both victims were reportedly outside the vehicle when the accident happened.
In addition, a 20-year-old man inside the stalled Honda Accord, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 44-year-old male, of Moreno Valley, driving the Nissan Armanda was also taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed. The officials have not provided any further details regarding the crash.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
