1 person killed and another injured after semi-truck’s tire blew out on I-10 near Seguin (Seguin, TX)

On Thursday morning, one person was killed and another received injuries after semi-truck’s tire blew out on I-10 near Seguin.

As per the initial information, the fiery crash took place at about 7 a.m. on I-10 near FM 725. The preliminary investigation revealed that a semi-truck, occupied by 2 persons, was eastbound on I-1o near FM 725 when its tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Just then, the vehicle went off a bridge, slid down a slope onto FM 725 where it burst into flames. A passenger, who is yet to be identified, succumbed to their injuries at the scene whereas the driver was transported to a hospital in San Antonio in an unknown condition. The eastbound and westbound lanes of interstate 10 in the area were shut down while authorities worked at the scene. The lanes have since re-opened.

The wreck remains under active review.
