According to the Hawthorne Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday in Hawthorne.
Officials confirmed that one person died and two people were injured due to the motor-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Van Ness Avenue and Imperial Highway.
Two vehicles collided with one another.
This resulted in one of the vehicles catching on fire.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Two others were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by the authorities.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the HPD.
