1 person killed after a vehicle slams into a parked car in northeast Las Vegas valley (Las Vegas, NV)

On late Tuesday night, one person was killed after a vehicle smashed into a parked SUV in the northeast Las Vegas valley.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place at about 11:50 p.m. in the area of Gowan and Walnut roads. One occupant suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

Reports stated that a man believed to be the driver was arrested after he attempted to run away. Impairment is suspected to be involved in the collision. Gowan was shut down in both directions between Walnut and Rochester Avenue as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
