On Wednesday, one person was killed after a vehicle hit a utility pole and then smashed into a backyard in Covina.

As per the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fatal single-vehicle crash was reported at around 1:50 p.m. near the intersection of Vincent Avenue and Queenside Drive. It is not yet known if the driver died due to the crash or if they experienced a medical emergency that resulted in the accident. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Authorities have not released any additional details regarding the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
