On Wednesday morning, one person died following a traffic accident on I-94.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place at Grove Street and westbound I-94 in Ypsilanti Township at about 6:30 a.m. in which a semi-trailer truck and a car were involved. The preliminary investigation revealed that the semi driver was cut off by a vehicle, which caused the truck driver to veer into the emergency lane.
Another car was parked there and the semi slammed into that vehicle. The driver of the parked car suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the official. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Officers shut down one lane in the area as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
