1 person killed after a three-vehicle wreck near Spanaway Lake (Spanaway, WA)

On Thursday morning, one person died following a multi-vehicle accident near Spanaway Lake.

As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle wreck took place near the 16800 block of Spanaway Loop Road South, a multi-lane road near the southwest shore of Spanaway Lake at around 10:09 a.m. The early reports showed that two cars and a dump truck were involved in the crash.

According to the investigators, one of the cars crashed head-on into the dump truck for undetermined reasons. One person was killed as a result of the collision. The driver of the dump truck remained unharmed in the accident. The incident did not lead to any other injuries.

Approximately two miles of the road was shut down between Military Road South and 174th Street South as crews worked at the scene. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes through the area. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
