1 person killed after a solo-vehicle crash in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

One person died following a high-speed crash in Las Vegas.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place at about 4:39 a.m. at the intersection of North Hollywood Boulevard and Walnut Canyon Drive. The preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a Ford F150 failed to maintain control of the vehicle after going at a high rate of speed.

The driver was heading northbound on North Hollywood Boulevard, before losing control of the vehicle and drifting left into the southbound travel lanes. After failing to regain control of the vehicle, the driver went off the roadway, where they entered the sidewalk of North Hollywood Boulevard. The pickup truck then slammed into a cinderblock wall and light pole.

After that, the driver continued going through the intersection of North Hollywood Boulevard and Walnut Canyon Drive, where it once again veered off the roadway and crashed into another cinderblock wall after which the vehicle came to its final stop. On arrival, medical personnel found out that the driver was beyond revival and they declared him dead at the scene. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
