At least one person was killed after a vehicle slammed into the back of a semi-truck on Sunday evening in the Irwindale area.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place on the Southbound 605 Freeway. The freeway was shut down to all traffic as crews worked at the scene. The early reports showed that a vehicle was trapped under the rear of the big rig, on the right side, and had severe damage.
On arrival, responders declared the driver of the vehicle dead. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
