The Police Department reported a motorvehicle accident In Spokane Valley left one person injured.
The crash occurred on Monroe Street and Second Avenue at around 10:30 p.m.
A downtown Spokane streetlight toppled onto the pavement late Monday in a two-car crash that sent one person to a hospital.
The crash happened when the Spokane resident, Andy Chavarria was driving west on Second Avenue in his Subaru Impreza when a southbound Volkswagen Bug on Monroe ran a red light.
The officials reported that the Volkswagen driver suffered leg injury and was taken to the hospital.
The officials stated that Chavarria was following the safety protocols at the time of the accident. Further details relating to the crash were not provided by the police.
Spokane Police spokesman Cpl. Nick Briggs stated that the victim was cited for driving with a suspended license, failed to stop at an intersection and had no insurance.
