On Sunday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash injured one person on Interstate 24 westbound between Harding Place and Haywood Lane.
As per the initial information, emergency crews were sent to the crash scene after reports of a motor vehicle accident. On arrival, they found a car in the back of a TDOT truck with one person pinned inside. The crews stabilized the vehicle and utilized hydraulic spreaders to remove the door and hydraulic cutters to make relief cuts on the post for extra room to remove the trapped victim.
The patient was then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment and their condition remains unknown at this time. The crash did not cause any other injuries. No other details are available regarding the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
