On Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation responded to a two-car crash that severely injured a person. The crash happened eastbound I-10 near Avondale Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. 

A preliminary investigation reveals the vehicle veered over the guardrail and rolled.

One person was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The condition of the person is unknown at this moment. 

It is unclear what caused the crash and if alcohol was a factor.
