The California Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident on Friday.
The accident occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at around midnight.
According to the officials, a big rig was heading on the fast lane when it was trying to pass another big rig. The right rear of the first big rig hit the left front of the second one.
The force of the impact caused the second big rig to crash into the guardrail on the east side of the road and continue until it hit an embankment.
The driver of the second big rig incurred minor injuries.
The driver of the first big rig was not injured.
The identities of both drivers have not been disclosed.
The crash is still being investigated.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
There are no other details available at this time.
