The California Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle accident on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the 10 Freeway, just east of Santa Anita Boulevard just before 11 a.m.
According to witnesses, a car was driving erratically before smashing into the side of an overpass. The force of the collision caused the car to flip and roll into a section of the freeway that was close to a travel lane.
Witnesses of the accident attempted to rescue the people stuck in the vehicle. They were able to extract the victims.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a hospital after being charged with driving under the influence. The passenger was also taken to a hospital.
The identities of those involved have not been disclosed. There have been no updates regarding the present conditions of the victims.
The accident is still being investigated.
