The Police Department reported a hit-and-run crash in Monroe.
The accident happened at the intersection of Winnsboro Road and 2nd Street.
Officers discovered a female victim lying on the ground in the right-hand lane north of the intersection.
Antonio Curry was the driver who hit the pedestrian.
The victim’s lower back and head were broken, and she was unresponsive.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Curry was detained and charged with Hit and Run Driving after being arrested and lodged at the Ouachita Correctional Center. Curry’s bail is currently set at $20,000.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
