One person suffered serious injuries after their vehicle flipped off an Interstate 75 entrance ramp into the woods in Marietta.
The single-vehicle accident took place on a ramp between the Canton Connector and I-75 North. The early reports showed that the vehicle struck a sign with traffic lights attached for undetermined reasons and it was lying on the side of the road after the accident. Officials stated that serious injuries are possible, but emergency responders believe that those injuries are non-life-threatening.
Reports further added that several fire trucks responded to the scene in the wooded area. Firefighters and emergency responders crowded around the guardrail. According to the officials, the ramp to I-75 north was blocked at about 11:10 a.m. Drivers could enter I-75 or I-575 on Piedmont Road to the north or North Marietta Parkway to the south. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
