On early Monday morning, one person suffered injuries following a rear-end crash on Loop 1604.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle collision took place at about 2:20 a.m. on Loop 1604 eastbound between O’Connor and Judson Road on the city’s Northeast Side. The early reports showed that a man driving a pickup truck hit another truck from behind, causing it to roll off the highway.
On arrival, emergency crews had to cut the vehicle to extricate the man from the vehicle. He was then transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in stable condition. The other driver remained unharmed in the accident. Officials stated that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the crash scene. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
