1 person injured after a car crash on I-85 in Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)

On Wednesday, one person suffered injuries following a single-vehicle accident on I-85 in Atlanta.

As per the initial information, the car crash took place at about 2:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a car going along I-85 south ended up in a wood line near Piedmont Road after it went over a barrier. On arrival, emergency responders found a woman pinned inside the GMC SUV.

A man, who is believed to be the driver, was outside of the vehicle when officers arrived at the scene. Firefighters extricated the woman and took her to the hospital with a broken leg. The driver and the passenger were not able to explain how the crash occurred. No charges are expected to be filed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
