On Wednesday, a man suffered major injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Shreveport.
Officers actively responded to Southern Avenue at Lawhon Drive at 7:26 p.m. after getting reports of a bicycle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the truck was going in the 4100 block of Southern Avenue when a bicyclist pulled out in front of the northbound pickup.
According to the officials, the bicyclist might have been hit by one of the pickup’s mirrors. The man was initially unconscious but he regained consciousness. On arrival, medics transported the rider to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport for treatment of serious injuries. The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
