1 person in critical condition after a vehicle hits a utility pole in North Austin (Austin, TX)

On early Wednesday morning, one person suffered life-threatening injuries after their vehicle slammed into a utility pole in North Austin.

As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to the area of 11800 North I-35 Service Road Northbound at about 2:44 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. The early reports showed that a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and the driver was trapped inside.

At 3:23 a.m., the driver was extricated from the vehicle by the first responders. Emergency crews rushed the victim as a “trauma alert” to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
