1 person in critical condition after a single-car crash on I-5 near Stanwood (Stanwood, WA)

On Wednesday, one person was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with critical injuries after a single-car crash on southbound I-5 near Stanwood, according to Washington State Patrol.

The preliminary reports showed that the car went off I-5 near Highway 532 for reasons that are yet to be known and went into an embankment at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. Southbound I-5 was closed for the airlift for around half an hour.

The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. It is unclear if the car had any passengers at the time of the accident. The identity of the injured victim remains undisclosed at this time.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
