On early Wednesday morning, one person received minor injuries following a traffic collision in the eastbound lanes of I-40.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 6:45 a.m. near mile marker 240. The passenger of the vehicle left the scene on foot crossing all lanes of traffic on I-40 before the arrival of the officers.
The driver was transported to the hospital with minimal injuries. Officials stated that marijuana was found in the vehicle as well. It is unclear if the passenger of the vehicle has been found out at this time. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
