One person was hurt following a fiery semi-truck crash in central El Paso.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle wreck took place on I-10 West at Chelsea Street. The preliminary reports showed that a semi-truck flipped over and got engulfed in flames. On arrival, first responders extinguished the fire and extricated the driver from the vehicle. The driver was then taken to a local hospital with minimal injuries.
A part of the freeway was closed as crews worked at the scene. All westbound lanes at Chelsea were shut down; two left lanes in the same stretch were also blocked going eastbound. Motorists were asked to expect heavy traffic backups Wednesday morning. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
