1 person hospitalized following a wreck in Riverside (Riverside, CA)

One person was injured following a wreck Wednesday in Riverside.

As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle accident was reported at about 10:45 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 215 at Cactus Avenue. The early reports showed that a Nissan Pathfinder SUV, a van and a Toyota sedan were involved in the accident.

On arrival, first responders transported the injured driver to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley. The extent of injuries sustained by the victim remains unknown at this time.

All lanes were shut down for about 30 minutes during the investigation and cleanup. The CHP announced a Sig Alert due to the miles-long traffic jam caused by the collision. By 11:45 a.m., the wreckage was cleared and all lanes were back open. No other details are available.

The wreck remains under investigation.
