1 person hospitalized following a chain-reaction collision in San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

One person received injuries after a chain-reaction collision early Friday in San Antonio.

As per the initial information, the four-vehicle pile-up took place at about 2:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 near the base of the ramp to Loop 410. Authorities responded to the scene on reports of a two-car collision in which a driver had several broken bones. He was rushed to University Hospital.

While crews were working to clear that crash scene, a third car slammed into one of those vehicles. Minutes later, a fourth car also smashed into the scene which created a big mess on the highway. It seemed that there were no other injuries. The highway was blocked during the investigation and cleanup. The highway reopened to traffic before the morning commute. No other details are available.
