1 person hospitalized after a wrong-way crash in south Fort Worth (Fort Worth, TX)

On late Sunday, one person suffered injuries following a rollover crash in south Fort Worth.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle wreck took place on Interstate 35W service road. The early reports showed that the driver of tractor-trailer who had a medical problem crashed their truck after going the wrong way on the highway. Officers responded to a call of a wrong-way driver a little after 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Garden Acres Drive.

Multiple witnesses called to inform that the truck was heading southbound on the northbound service road of Interstate 35W or the South Freeway and it had rolled over in a median of about the 12000 block of the South Freeway. On arrival, firefighters freed the driver out of the cab of the truck after he wrecked the tractor-trailer.

The driver was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with unspecified injuries. The trailer was fully loaded and three heavy-duty wreckers worked to transfer the contents to lighten the weight and allow the tractor-trailer to be righted and dragged. The incident did not lead to any other injuries. No further details were provided.

The crash remains under review.
