1 person hospitalized after a wreck in Hunt County; alcohol might have been a factor (Hunt County, TX)

One person was taken to a hospital after a wreck Sunday night along U.S. Highway 380 in Hunt County.

As per the initial information, emergency crews responded to the crash scene at about 8 p.m. Sunday after getting reports of a three-vehicle accident. The preliminary reports showed that a Benson Brothers wrecker truck was picking up an unoccupied Chevy pickup truck on the eastbound shoulder.

At that point of time, a 1967 Ford pickup truck veered onto the shoulder and hit the unoccupied truck, sending it on top of the wrecker truck. The occupants of the tow truck were not inside the vehicle at the time of the accident and were not hurt. The driver of the Ford was taken to Hunt County Regional with non-critical injuries. Authorities suspect that alcohol might have played a part in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
