1 person hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Richland (Richland, WA)

On Wednesday morning, one person was hurt following a traffic collision in Richland.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 10:00am on 240 Freeway. The preliminary investigation showed that an SUV merged onto the Freeway on the westbound side, crashed into another vehicle that was already in the main lanes. The force of the collision sent the merging vehicle across the median and through the eastbound lanes of the freeway.

The vehicle ended up on the eastbound curb. On arrival, paramedics transported one person to Kadlec as a precaution. Officials said that the cause of the crash seems to be failure to yield. Portion of the 240 Freeway was shut down as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing.
