1 person hospitalized after a rollover crash on Lee Road 117 (Columbus, GA)

One person suffered injuries and was airlifted to hospital after a single-vehicle rollover accident on Lee Road 117 at about 2:45 p.m.

According to the officials, the driver was the sole occupant and received head trauma as a result of the crash. The extent of injuries sustained by the victim is unknown at this time. Lee County Sheriff’s Office actively responded to the crash scene before the patient was airlifted to Piedmont Columbus Regional.

Officers reported that the road may still be shut down, but the area should be cleared soon. Drivers are asked to drive with care and allow extra travel time. The identity of the injured victim has not been revealed at this time.

The authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
