On early Saturday morning, one person suffered injuries following a rollover accident in Benton County.
Officers actively responded to the area of Interstate 82, approximately half a mile outside Kennewick city limits after getting reports of a single-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicated that the male driver was traveling westbound on I-82 when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle drifted off the roadway to the right, overcorrected and flipped into the median.
The driver was not buckled up at that time and was driving under the influence. On arrival, paramedics took him to Trios Health with unspecified injuries. He is being charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seatbelt. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
