1 person hospitalized after a rollover accident in Redding (Redding, CA)

One person was injured after a rollover accident Monday morning in Redding.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 2:00 a.m. on the lawn of Redding Civic Auditorium. The early reports showed that a Jeep Cherokee with four teenage occupants was doing “donuts” or spins on the lawn when the SUV flipped onto its side. On arrival, responders took an 18-year-old passenger to a hospital with a head injury.

According to the authorities, the driver did not display signs of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It was also reported that two 18-year-olds and two other teenagers were riding in the vehicle when the incident happened. Three of the four occupants remained unharmed in the crash. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
