On Wednesday afternoon, at least one person suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Baton Rouge.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle wreck took place on I-10 East at Highland Road. On arrival, emergency personnel transported one person to an area medical facility with unspecified injuries.
As of 3:40 p.m., the right lane was closed on I-10 East just past the Highland Road exit as crews worked at the scene. Congestion was approaching two miles. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and adopt alternate routes. No other details are made available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
